How good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity.

Unity is precious to the Lord, and to us.
This season is one where many people will be drawn together in unity of purpose. Not all motives will be godly and sound, so not all unity is pleasing to the Lord.
But when we come together out of love for Him, and for each other, that is pleasing to Him.
When we do the little for the least, we begin to fulfill His desires for us - selflessness.

During this special time when our society is at it's most open, let's try to remember the less fortunate and not from a distance.
Who can you draw in to His unity?

Happy birthday to us!!!

This weekend is the 15th anniversary of the official initial gathering of Elgin Church of God aka Elgin Community Church.

We started life in New Elgin Community Centre in 1991 and moved into Pinetree House in 2001.

Praise the Lord!

Thought for the week.

Eph 5:4 Though some tongues just love the taste of gossip, Christians have better uses for language than that. Don't talk dirty or silly. That kind of talk doesn't fit our style. Thanksgiving is our dialect. The Message
{ Eph 5:4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. }

Gossip is
  • when you say something about someone that you haven't said to their face or discussed with them or asked if they mind if you say what you say.
  • when the subject of the gossip does not have the opportunity to set right what is being alleged or implied.
  • when there is very little evidence, very little encouragement, very little necessity for what you say about someone.
  • when you seek to make yourself look important under the black cloak of control and false concern for the person about whom you are gossiping.
  • when trust in the community is severely undermined and corroded.
  • when division creeps in and thrives resulting in dis-unity and hindrance of the work of Holy Spirit.
  • when we do the work of Satan in bringing down a brother or sister in Christ.
Still want to talk about someone behind their back?

I should hope not.
All you ever need to do is pray on your own in the quiet, secret place.

Read James Ch3; John 6:63.
Gal 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Another time of walking.....

We went to walk around Loch Affric but unfortunately we couldn't walk all the way round as there was no safe place to cross over a river that had swollen because of recent rainfall. However we had a good day of fellowship and enjoyment of God's creation.

In the pic from left to right is Mr. Dave; the Old Vic; Ronnie; Mamma Kriss; Carol.

Walk Number 3....

Great walk today, misty and wet but great.

We walked through Ryvoan Pass to the bothy and then doubled back a bit then into the Cairngorms. The scenery was stunning and the cuckoo was my highlight. Pity Kriss and Ronnie couldn't see it....

NOT cold and Windy....

What a difference a few weeks makes, it was absolutely glorious down at Roseisle forest and beach today.

The sun was shining and there was a real warmth in the air.

Creation was really showing off the glory of God today, the sky was so blue and the trees were so green. And so many shades of green, the place was stunning. It was shouting out there is a God!!

Nunsy also found the biggest Hannukah candle that we have ever seen!!
